Faithdean Plc are very proud to have been involved in the refurbishment of SEGRO’s first carbon neutral industrial unit in the UK.
New solar panels and high-efficiency M&E services that included a rainwater harvesting system were installed to the property alongside a new landscaping scheme which improved the site’s usability and biodiversity.
The project comprised of the extensive overhaul of the building and its landscaping to improve the site’s biodiversity and provide future occupants with nature break-out areas and electric vehicle charging points. The office area was fit out to a high-quality CAT A standard, featuring standout design elements such as an impressive moss wall, rainwater harvesting together with high-end mechanical and electrical services to meet BREEAM’s strict targets.
Externally, the unit received a liquid waterproofing system to the entire roof, uprated rooflights, new dock levelers and roller shutter doors together with the installation of an additional roller shutter door. Internally the cladding and portal frame were redecorated and epoxy resin was applied to the slab to futureproof the building.
This achieved an ‘Excellent’ BREEAM rating and resulted in a unit that generates more energy than it consumes whilst creating a highly attractive and sustainable workspace for future users. The project also achieved a 100% waste recycling rate.
