Extensive Refurbishment and Extension of Edinburgh House, London
The extensive refurbishment and extension of Edinburgh House London, a striking business centre located in Kennington SE11, offering six stories of brand new offices and studios.
The project comprised of the complete overhaul and refurbishment of the existing 80,000 sq ft office building. Faithdean constructed a new extension to both the third and fourth floors of Edinburgh House, as well incorporating a brand new feature atrium, complete with a café and an abundance of creative breakout spaces to infill the old rear courtyard. The works included the demolition and part rebuild third floor, Kennington Street frontage and the replacement of the existing boundary wall and fencing on Kennington Lane. Edinburgh House’s existing basement/car park has also been converted to create additional lettable office space.
The newly refurbished building benefits from an increased entry hall, improved internal circulation, increased office areas and a new café area, together with the formation of a three-storey landscaped garden providing sought-after outside space. Edinburgh House provides a ‘Club Workspace’ co-working hub built for freelancers, entrepreneurs and growing teams – putting no limits on the type or flexibility of space you can have.
This project was registered with the CCS (Considerate Constructors Scheme) and all works were required to comply with BREEAM ‘Very Good’.
