Redevelopment and refurbishment of Albert House, Shoreditch

Albert House is a large multi-tenanted 6 storey commercial office building situated a short walk from Old Street station.

The aim of the project was to create modern flexible spaces for clients, The Office Group. This included the formation of a bar amongst private offices, ClubRooms (shared working spaces), meeting and conferencing rooms for up to 100 people, as well as a fitness studio, bike storage and an exclusive screening room.

Bespoke category B fit out

The works comprised of a total refurbishment of the building from the roof, right down to the basement. Faithdean stripped the building to shell and core and installed all new M&E works, a new plant on the roof and another in the basement.

A Category B fit out was applied to the office space on all 6 levels; featuring exposed services, copper piping and attention-grabbing tiling creating an exciting contemporary look and feel to the new work spaces.

External renovation of the existing building façade

The exterior has been completely transformed and modernised, complementing the new interior changes.

Albert House’s existing façade was completely redesigned. Changes include a new canopy and entrance built onto Old Street – including new glazing and entrances on Singer Street. This was achieved via an abseiling technique, instead of the traditional scaffolding method due to time, cost, site constraints and logistical challenges.
