SOPHISTICATED CAT B REFURBISHMENT OF GRADE II LISTED BUILDING

Situated in the Heart of Holborn on Red Lion Square, Summit House is a Grade II listed building. Originally built-in 1925 as the Austin Reed head office, the building has a distinctly modern yet art deco aesthetic and features a striking tiled façade.

Set across four storeys, the 45,000 sq ft building’s interior has been entirely reimagined. The works comprised of the high-quality Category B fit out over six floors comprising of the basement, ground and four upper floors.

The design included eye catching details including the installation of a statement tiered architectural structure in the reception area to frame the space and draw attention to the Birdseye Maple reception desk, along with custom-made terrazzo flooring laid in a geometric pattern nodding to the building’s art deco heritage.

The overall colour scheme has also been carefully designed by Note Design Studio, which features a palate of soft browns and beige, paired with natural materials and a colour scheme inspired by the calming spirit of Sweedish Grace, a pre-functionalist style of modernism that spanned the 1920s, to compliment the art deco heritage of the building.

Complete with a recharge room and a fourth-floor roof terrace, the newly refurbished Summit House offers a flexible workspace with a drop-in lounge, private offices, meeting rooms and events space in a timeless setting.
